The Group works on autoimmune and genetic disorders of the nervous system, with special emphasis on the neuromuscular junction.

The group of Angela Vincent is involved in identifying and characterising mutations in patients with congenital myasthenic syndromes (David Beeson), in understanding the role of antibodies to AChR, MuSK, VGCC and VGKC in myasthenias and CNS disorders (Bethan Lang, Angela Vincent), and in understanding the role of the thymus and establishing antigen-specific therapy (Nick Willcox).
